The survey report on Chinese women’s consumption (2006) released at the forum has detailed data and analysis. They show that women are playing a vital role in consumption. Our work to protect women consumers’ rights and interests and to give them guidance in consumption is protecting not only women’s consumer rights but also the consumer rights of children and elderly,and their family consumption harmony as well.
China Consumers’ Association’s 2007 annual conference theme is Harmonious Consumption. It is to ask all walks of life to recognize the concept that a harmonious environment should be built for consumers. It is every one’s social responsibility to push for an improved consumer environment.
China Consumers’ Association will carry out a series of activities and one of them is to draft an enterprise standard on social responsibility to protect consumer rights and interests. At the end of the year we will select outstanding enterprises that have fulfilled their social responsibility in this regard and give them an award. China Consumers’ Association will also put forward suggestions to address prominent issues affecting the present consumer environment. We will call on the government to perform its duty seriously. The association will also study consumers’ social responsibility and work on the code of conduct in order to lead consumers in scientific,rational,civilized and healthy consumption.
China Consumers’ Association will strengthen its work on educating and guiding consumers,and make them better exercise their right of choice and right of fair trade empowered by relevant laws and regulations,so that they can act on their own and become consumer-conscious. The association will give guidance to women consumers at different levels accordingly,pay attention to hot issues and improve women’s knowledge on consumption. The association will also promote consumer education on campus,and work with the government to give children and youth consumer education as well.
