The Chinese Women’s Consumption(Shanghai)Forum can be summarized by three sentences:It has seen three combinations,come to three pieces of useful information and raised three suggestions.
First,the forum has seen three combinations in terms of theme content,concept design and organizing form.
(1)The combination of theory and individual cases. Views and theories put forward at the forum were supported by survey data and company practical experiences. Chairwoman Gu’s speech has theoretically explained the importance of brand strategy in the nation’s overall strategy of economic and social development. Branding must be creative and innovative,and it is part and parcel of a creative nation and a harmonious society.
(2)The combination of macro strategic planning,regional arrangement and company executions.
(3)The combination of government officials,scholars,experts and entrepreneurs.
Second,participants have gained three pieces of useful information:inspiring ideas and concepts,clear policy news and valuable market information.
Third,there are three suggestions on expanding network and maximizing forum information.
(1)We should further study the forum theme. Women are a huge and trendy consumer group and there is tremendous market potential. The relationship between woman consumers and brands has both research and commercial values. This forum is a good beginning,but there are still issues that need to be studied and followed.
(2)Information and data collected by surveys and investigation should be more specific. If we want to hold a successful forum,the quality of news we are going to release is crucial. This time we gave a good news release on women brand consumption. To better serve policy-makers,manufacturers and markets,we should design better and detailed surveys and investigations in order to collect useful information.
(3)We should stress coordination between forum participants. One forum cannot solve all the problems that have been raised. More work should be done afterwards to put ideas into practice. We expect more companies,scholars and experts to join us. We may change our forum theme but will not change our aim:to study women consumption. We will continue to provide policy consultancy and information service for the government,enterprises,schools,research institutes and woman consumers.
