政治学和国际问题教授、乔治· 华盛顿大学中国政策项目主任、华盛顿布鲁金斯研究所外交政策研究项目高级研究员；曾任《中国季刊》编辑和伦敦大学中国政治讲师。研究领域包括当代中国国内政治、对外关系、军事和安全政策。近期出版专著China’s Communist Party：Atrophy andAdaptation（ 2007）；China Watching：Perspectives from Europe， Japan and the United States（ 2006），Power Shift：China and Asia’s Dynamics（ 2005），The Odyssey of China’s Imperial Art Treasures（ 2005）。
