Rationally allocating resources of roads which became more limited，improving road traffic order effectively，enhancing the level of conventional public transport services，promoting the construction of public transport services classification system were the main purpose of development of Guangzhou Bus Rapid Transit. By deeply analyzing the development of Guangzhou conventional public transport，identified three main reasons for constraints of raising the level of conventional bus service. Three modes of Bus Rapid Transit system were summed up based on the research of practical experience of home and abroad Bus Rapid Transit. Combined with Guangzhou actual situations，the development location and specific strategies of Bus Rapid Transit were put forward，and developing the “high-standard and flexible type” mode of Bus Rapid Transit in the central urban area was advised，and accordingly drawn out the assumption of Bus Rapid Transit network program.Take Zhongshan Road Bus Rapid Transit test line as an example，Guangzhou Bus Rapid Transit practical experience was explored. At last，a number of issues were summed up which must be paid attention during the development of the Bus Rapid Transit.
