In the past year of 2010，urban construction and management have made tremendous achievements，which included：urban construction moved forward，urban management strengthened，transport facilities went forward，construction industry well-developed. However，there are some constraints and problems，such as：coordination was not enough within and among different departments，urban management and construction standards need to be improved，macro control over the real estate needs to be strengthened. In 2011，Guangzhou urban construction and management is favored by the good top-level design，development of Nansha District and other opportunities，and also faces some potential risks：urban environment degeneration，fund shortage，high prices of houses，etc.Some measures and recommendations for Guangzhou urban construction are put forward：to strengthen the coordination and cooperation among different departments；to improve urban planning and optimize urban spatial structure；to strengthen and improve the urban ecological environment；to innovatively solve the problems of urban construction funds collection；to propel scientific planning and give priority to the public transit so as to ease the transportation pressure.
