As one of the national central cities，with its big step towards a service center city，Guangzhou has entered the“service economy” period. We focused on and discussed the development path of service industries of Guangzhou from the aspects of industrial structure，market dynamics and consumer trends to identify the development characteristics of this service city，furthermore we studied the international experience as well as regional analysis. This paper argues that，as a service center city，the core mission of Guangzhou is to enhance the comprehensive service functions in the development of its future services，to focus on its producer services，relying on its advantages of flow economies of scale to achieve the dislocation competition with Hong Kong，take the service and the Pearl River Delta Interactive integration of international manufacturing development，and based on service aggregation and service innovation to improve regional integration and outreach its services，gradually into the Pearl River Delta and give great support in industrial upgrading，promoting national development and progress of service sector.
