Reforms in the household registration system have already begun in some provinces and municipalities in 2010. The central and local governments continue to launch reforming policies, which draw great attention to the media and public opinions. We can see that the media reports focus on the policies and programs of the reform, the problems and obstacles; whereas the public opinions online focus on the explanations of the policies, the differences of social status caused by the household registration system and their advice about the reform.
