With the analysis upon structure of import and export commodities，trade and nature of import and export enterprises，this article concluded the situation of China’s trade and the reason why the trade surplus occurred. In order to reduce the surplus and optimize the trade structure，China promulgated a series of policies and regulations to regulate foreign economic activities in 2007. Meanwhile，in 2008 the adjustment on local trade structure，the transformation of the mode of trade，and the upgrading of trade surplus performance will be even more outstanding. The prospects of global economic growth，especially economic growth of Europe and the United States，is essential for the stability of China’s foreign trade in 2008. Overall，in 2008 the trade pattern of China might not have earth-shaking changes，the existing trade patterns might remain stable，and import and export growth might remain at a high level.
