This article reviews the situation of the security for the elderly of our country, analysis the existing problems and provides relevant suggestions. 2012 is a year of rapid development of the security for the elderly in our country the adoption of universal security system for the elderly, the gradual clearer linkage pattern between urban and rural areas and the supportive policies for the family planning families added into the newly revised Law of the People's Republic of China on Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Elderly. Meanwhile there are many problems in the security system, the joint power of the security resources is deficient, the financial burden of pension is increasing and the impact of low-age retirement on sustainable development of the system etc. <<
