The development of the service system of the elderly in 2012, existing problems and recommendations are presented in this report. Tremendous progress are made in 2012 in the regards of construction concept, supportive policies, the process of market-oriented, basic facilities, operative pattern and the process of professionalization etc. and there exist problems e.g. lagged behind design at top level, lack of target mechanism and weak of basic foundation etc. therefore top level design should be strengthened, market-oriented process should be promoted, the purchasing power and desire of the elderly should be upgraded and the equality between urban and rural areas should be continously boosted. <<
