The concept of social enterprise has been increasingly causing the attention of non-profit organizations, academic circles, enterprises and even the government since it was introduced to China. Meanwhile, there is still controversy over the definition and features of social enterprise, the social enterprises in China and other relative issues. In the first part of this paper, the author analyzes the concept, features and classifications of social concept from the theoretical level. In addition, the author introduces several cases of the social enterprises. Based on this, in the rest part of the paper, the author describes the introduction of the concept of the social enterprise in China as well as the appearance and development of the Chinese social enterprises, classifies the social enterprises in current situation, puts forward the light spectrum of the Chinese social enterprises, and discusses several important issues concerned in the development process of the Chinese social enterprises. <<
