The construction of a new countryside made a significant progress in 2007. The various agricultural oriented policies were implemented. The rural public service has been improved and the income of peasants increased. The employment environment of off-farm workers is improved. However，the three dimensional rural issues entered a new developmental phase in which rural areas differentiation，villagers alienation and middle-aged rural surplus labors bring forward new challenges to the construction of a new countryside.
