The unique location and developing advantage of Guangzhou create favorable learning, working and living environment for young people in the city. Their development is under the continuous political, economic and cultural improvement of the city. Along with the expansion and structural diversity of youth population, young people tend toward educational choices which focus more on personality. Young people's overall values, including those on marriage, employment and participation, show practical tendency: their values are diversified and practical; decisions about marriage are both idealistic and rational; their values on employment is positive; and about participation consciousness, youth self-organization participation is well observed. Economic and cultural development pushes youth consumption to improve. Young people gradually realize the importance of physical and mental health. Providing special care for specific groups of young people, including those of deviant behavior, and the continuous improvement of educational and employment policies provide fundamental support for the stable development of youth in Guangzhou. At the same time, in order to achieve even better progress for young people in the city, a multi-dimensional mechanism to provide social policy and social support, is needed. <<
