In the beginning of the 21st century, some industries in coastal regions in East China began to transfer to hinterland part of the country. Chengdu, as a major city in West China receiving the industrial transfer, is also seeing the great change in employment situation when securing its development and transforming economic structure. The thesis, by using historical data, making surveys and interviews, citing cases of enterprises, studies the current situation and advantages of Chengdu in receiving industrial transfer, and the industrial structure, employment volume, vocational training and salary growth in Chengdu over the past decade. It analyzes the impact on industrial transfer and upgrading on employment quality in the city. The research points out that, in the process of receiving industrial transfer, the employment volume in Chengdu has been increased considerably, employment structure has been optimized, the performance of workers and employees has been evidently improved and the salary growth of the transferred industries has been accelerated.
