Stimulating employment by encouraging entrepreneurship is an important content in the proactive employment policy in China. The research in this thesis reveals that entrepreneurs in China are mainly aged between 35 and 49 and have received the intermediate education. The entrepreneurship activities differ evidently in urban and rural areas, different regions, education background, age and gender. The entrepreneurship environment, such as the business start procedure, time and cost, is the major factor influencing the entrepreneurship activities. As a result, it is imperative to solve the problem of imbalanced entrepreneurship in China, improve the entrepreneurship environment as soon as possible and stimulate the employment through entrepreneurship to the largest extent. <<
