In 2010，the RK’s diplomacy focused on the appropriate handling of the situation on the Peninsula，which had been extremely tense with the impact of the Cheonan Incident and the Yeonpyeong Island Incident. On one hand，with the government’s vigorous advocating of the pro-US policies，the tri-lateral bonds between the RK，Japan and the US had been further strengthened due to the common confrontation to DPRK，while on the other hand，Sino-RK relationship had undergone misunderstanding and distrust，in addition to more negative impacts such as the abatement of the RK’s leading role in DPRK policies and even more intensified tension on the Peninsula. Nevertheless，there had been eye-catching diplomatic events such as the RK’s signing of FTA with the US and the success of G20 summits. The RK had been keeping at its fruitful diplomatic efforts concerning resources，culture and international organizations.
