According to the LAC statistical yearbooks, this paper evaluates the level of recycling economy of the six countries in the region. Based on factor analysis and clustering methods, the LAC countries can be divided into three types. Taking the six countries of LAC (Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile, and Mexico) for examples, the author analyzes the performance of recycling economy indicators in detail. Results show that the resource consumption growth of Latin American economies is still dominated. Consequentially, it is suggested that the LAC countries should enhance recycling economy to a new strategic level by scientific and technological innovation according to their respective types and lead enterprises and consumers to participate in building recycling economy by means of developing appropriate policies. <<
