In 2008，Dominica kept political situation in relative stability and the presidential election was carried out smoothly. Macroeconomic development was in good momentum but at slower pace. Inflation control and energy supply stand as major challenges to the country where social situation did not show signs of improvement. In the field of diplomacy，Dominican ties with other countries and regions were maintained the same as before.
