"A new type of relationship between major countries in the 21st century" is an important strategic initiative for promoting the Sino-US cooperation in the future. It mainly consists of three main themes: 1) Improving cooperation and mutual strategic understanding at the pinnacle of our political systems and thickening communications and cooperation between two military establishments. This includes more effective crisis management and more effective internal foreign policy and security coordination within our countries. 2) Thickening economic interdependencies between two societies, particularly employment-generating interdependencies between states/provinces and localities. 3) Build regional/multilateral security and economic structures encompassing both of countries rather than driving them apart. <<
