Rebalancing toward Asia is the core concept of American foreign policy since Obama took office. It's a strategic pivot from the Middle East to Asia. The background of this policy change is Asia's new gesture with economic growth, the US's domestic partisan politics and political factors of defense budgets. Obama and his cabinet members, as well as the policy research circle have given a variety of interpretations on this policy. Lack of consistency, these interpretations have easily led to misreading by other countries. In fact, the rebalance policy is not a strategic change in nature, but in forms and in wording. Obama will do some re-rebalancing in his second term and make it smartly balanced. Ultimately, this policy will be a landmark of his administration.
