In 2012,the centre-left parties won power in several European countries.Their policies targeted at stimulating economic growth and advancing social justice offered possible alternatives to the measures that had been taken in dealing with the European debt crisis.Political separatists have been gaining strength in some EU member states and searching for independence,which can be dedicated to both the historical traditions and economic considerations.Initial progresses have been made towards the construction of the fiscal union and political union,however,the future direction of the European integration is still subject to debates.
