Estonia is enjoying a stable political situation,due to the centre-right coalition of the Reform Party and the Pro Patria-Res Publica Union (IRL) occupying a parliamentary majority and the ruling coalition remains generally stable.The fiscal consolidation policy introduced by the government resulted in social tensions and the economic growth in Estonia is expected to slow down in 2012.As regards international affairs,Estonia maintains good relations with the United States,participates actively in the EU's internal affairs,and seeks to keep good relationships with Russia,but the issue concerning the border treaty remains a great obstacle to the improvement of the Estonia-Russia relations. <<
