In 2012,public opinion events are characterized by a large scale of geographical spread,a great coverage of educational fields and a domination of negative public opinion events—a feature shared by those in 2011.But there are also some new features,such as a surge of opinion events involving education policies,a slowdown of the increase of public opinion events about education,etc.The specifications of these features are as follows:the number of public opinion events concerned with education in Beijing goes into the nation-wide lead;the number of education supervision departments involved in the incidents has increased substantially;higher education has become the most talked-about field;new media has become the major platform where educational events are exposed;the power of microblogging has become increasingly prominent;the government's interventions to education events have been relatively prompt. <<
