2008年由于石油价格的上涨，中东国家经济普遍获得了高速的增长。中东地区经济体虽然与发达国家经济体相比，受金融危机的影响有限，但是，2009年金融危机的影响通过石油价格变化的传导作用仍然抑制了中东经济的增长。随着世界经济的复苏、石油价格的回升，2010年中东经济有望好转。
<<Thanks to the high oil prices，the Middle East economy enjoyed fast growth in 2008. Although the impact of the financial crises was rather limited for the Middle East compared with the developed economies，it did constrain the economic growth of the Middle East economy with the decline of oil prices. With the recovery of the world economy and the oil prices，the Middle East economy tends to improve.
