According to the judgement of the technological innovation and the new pattern of international industries development，through qualitative and quantitative comparative analysis，this study summarizes several weaknesses of Guangzhou’s industries，such as the hysteresis of financial services，logistics development，the weakness of structure foundation of wholesale and retail trade，a shortage of advanced talents，the imperfection of system and mechanism of innovation，etc. Combined with characteristics of stage for economic and social transition and new urban positioning，this research proposes strategic thinking and approach to enhance the core competitiveness of Guangzhou’s industries. From the perspective of core resources and core competencies，this study puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions for the improving of industrial incubator chain，factor accumulation，human resources and the construction of hardware and software environment.
