From 1978 to 2013, the number of Chinese overseas students has been increasing significantly in mainland China; their destinations are over hundred countries and regions. There are over three million Chinese overseas talents, who are current studying or have completed their studies, dedicate on contributing to the cultural exchanges, technology innovation and the development of our nation. According to the statistic figures of overseas students from Mainland China, the study overseas related activities have reached a constantly stabilized period, which is called 'The Period of Prosperity' base on 35 years of practice on study overseas, it proves the increasing importance of 'Study Overseas Diplomacy', which is an important form of public diplomacy that helps to build the national image of China, acquire international understanding, and realize the global strategy. The authors, who completed this study base on their field research about the current status of Chinese overseas students, have been visiting over 20 countries in the past decades and finished this report. <<
