The Sixth National Census provides a wealth of information for the study of the employment status，trends and gender differences between men and women. Research showed that women’s employment rate is 13.8 percent lower than men’s rate in 2010，and in the last 20 years，16 to 59 years-old women’s employment rate continually declined. Gender gap is expanding. In the occupational composition，the proportion of female‘white collar’is lower than that of the male. There is serious gender-based segregation in some occupations. The paper recommends a fair employment-working environment to improve the social support systems of women’s employment.
