This paper evaluates the sex distribution of students at different levels of educational systems，including pre-school，primary school，high school，higher education，vocational education and their educational achievements in 31 provinces from 2005 to 2010. It also compares the sex distributions of teachers of higher education. These vertical and horizontal comparisons provide basic information on the status of gender equality and women’s development in Chinese educational systems.
