印度非组织部门劳工占全国总劳动力90%以上，但基本上没有相关的社会保障。2007年9月10日，印度劳动与就业部向印度联邦院提交了《非组织部门劳工社会保障法案》（theUnorganisedSectorWorker’sSocialSecurityAct，2007）。这意味着，这部酝酿多年的法案有可能被通过并颁布实施。如果这部法案被通过，那就意味着非组织部门劳工将获得法律保障。这部法律也将成为印度政府一系列社会保障计划的法律依据。
<<There is no social security for the workers in the unorganized sector in India. To provide social security to them，the Unorganized Sector Workers Social Security Bill 2007 was introduced in Parliament of India in September last year. The India Central government will launch programmes for the unorganized sector workers under the bill，and the unorganized sector workers will benefit from the programmes.
