媒体监督对于预防和惩治司法腐败、促进司法公信力提升有积极作用。但是，如果媒体不依法监督，片面追求轰动效应，就有可能对司法公信产生破坏作用。新闻监督和独立审判都是宪法赋予的权力，在维护社会公平正义的本质上是一致的。但是，在实践中媒体监督和司法公信存在一定的冲突现象。
