Chinese cities are facing the great challenge from global climate change and GHG emission. Learning from international experience of leading low-carbon cities will play an important role on how to develop low-carbon cities in China,stimulate thinking and practices from urban administrators and building development models in Chinese low-carbon cities. Based on the in-depth analysis of the development experience and model features in Portland,the paper has provided recommendations on how to construct low-carbon cities from the aspect of urban planning,industrial development and governance in China. <<
