In 2007 political situations in the Caribbean were stable.But some of the ruling parties in the sub-region could not get their policies approved by the parliament.Many countries held general elections in a fair and peaceful way.The economy continues to rely on agriculture，mining，assembling and tourism. Unemployment rate remains high and crimes and drug trafficking are still the major problems in most of the countries in the sub-region.
