During the period of "grand-coalition" government,there was an re-adjustment in the German-American relations .Since then,the bilateral relationship has been a "selective alliance".The main feature of the German-American relations is that both sides are well aware of the importance of maintaining alliance.Both sides also strive for mutual adjustment.However,important changes have been occuring in the international system.In addition,the domestic political,economic,and social environments of both countries have been experiencing changes.Those changes lead to their divergence and conflict in a variety of issues,such as Afghanistan War,Libya War,and macroeconomic policies,and so on.The dynamics of the German-American relations also have some impact on the Sino-German relations. <<
