Driven by the “four wheels” in 2009，cooperation in East Asia has been advancing toward a more substantial，deep and practical direction，resulting in comprehensively significant achievements in many fields. This paper，after a brief review of these main advances obtained in East Asian integration in 2009，analyses its main characteristics and its significance. It then discuss the possible prospect facing the East Asian integration，arguing that East Asian integration will continue to move on with the of “ASEAN+1” mechanism as the basis，“ASEAN+3” as the major channel，and ASEAN as the as the driving force.
