The 5th Plenary Session of the 16th CPC Central Committee not only has made clear the significance of constructing resource-conserving and environment-friendly society resource（be called two type society for short）but also has brought forward the strategic task of promoting to form the regions with main development function for the first time.Therefore，studying on the regions with main development function of Wuhan urban agglomeration in the construction of two type society is a very important problem.This paper anatomized the connotation of two type society and regions with main development function as well as their inherent relation，analysed the significance of constructing the regions with main development function of Wuhan urban agglomeration on the base of it. There are three important realization approaches，which are building the index system of with main development function regionalization，making clear the orientation of regions with main development function，putting into effect the classification policies and measures with two type society idea.
