Waterway transportation undertakes more than ninety percent capacity of foreign trade goods，which plays an important role in promoting the economic and social development in China. This report analyzes the running situations of global waterway transportation industry in 2009，and mainly introduces the problems of ports，shipping manufacture，and shipping industry in China. And then，it forecasts the further development trends and proposes the corresponding policy recommendations.
