In 2012，Wuhan （municipal district） ranked the 34th in the increase of the total cultural and educational consumption among various key cities and the 8th in the growth of per capita value. The rankings of the status evaluation are as follows：in the lateral evaluation among key cities，Wuhan ranked the 17th；in vertical evaluation itself，Wuhan ranked the 17th，1st and 17th during the periods of 2005-2012，2010-2012 and 2011-2012 respectively.
