To comprehensively evaluate the status of Chinese cultural development，we have constructed an evaluation indicator system based on six dimensions of Chinese cultural development，i.e. construction，production，results，levels，spread and impact. We select 54 variables indicating status of cultural development of 31 provinces or cities，which are extracted from the Statistical Yearbook of Chinese Culture and China Statistical Yearbook，as basic indicators，present specific research methods for the evaluation of Chinese cultural development，and look into how to evaluate the overall level of Chinese cultural development and how to explore its influential factors.
