Recently，suicides of primary and secondary school students have become an increasingly serious social problem. Based on collection and analysis of media reports about primary and secondary school student suicides in 2013，the article briefly summarizes the basic features of the suicides，and categorizes the causes into four aspects of conflicts between teachers and students，family conflicts，academic burden，and suicide pacts. However，further analysis shows that the suicide is caused by psychological collapse with high level of academic burden，instead of individual psychological vulnerability，which is basically caused by high level of examination-oriented education system. In order to radically reduce and stop such more and more serious problems of primary and secondary student suicide caused by academic burden，we need to make changes in the bottom of Chinese education system.
