Food safety，which is relevant to the health and lawful rights of thousands of consumers，is an important issue regarding the people’s livelihood and also a focus of news report. A lot of incidents of food safety were first revealed by the media in recent years. On the basis of acknowledging the fulfillment of the responsibilities and the active response of the media，this paper gives an in-depth analysis and reflection on the existing problems in the media reports through case study，and calls for the media to bear the responsibility as a watchman with the “scientific spirit” and deliver the right and valuable information to the public，so as to manifest the credibility and responsibility which the media should have. Meanwhile，this paper also puts forward some policy suggestions according to author’s working experience. <<
