New progress has been achieved with regard to the protection of Guangzhou non-material culture heritage in 2013：19 municipal and 7 provincial projects have been newly added；units of municipal non-material culture heritage have also been verified and published；3 state exhibitions were organized；active exploration on the industrialization of non-material culture heritage has been conducted，together with the census on non-material culture heritage. Nevertheless，several limitations with reference to directory，transmission，display and propaganda still exist. A list of proposals were therefore named out by the current research group：comprehensive scientific assessments on the currently relevant projects should be conducted；new ways on public inheritance of non-material culture should be found by relying on the community；social force can be employed to help with the protection work；moreover，relevant projects might be exhibited in the folk custom museums in Guangzhou and later on be industrialized；diversified forms should be added so as to increase the international influence of Guangzhou non-material culture heritage；and finally various ways of propaganda should be deployed for the sake of the spread of Guangzhou non-material culture heritage.
