Medical insurance is an important part of China’s social security system，which is not only related to economic development and social stability，but also related to people’s lives and health. But with the economic development，China’s medical insurance system’ problems gradually emerge and reform is imperative. Basing on the study of the current situation and problems of urban medical insurance，the paper proposed some feasible ideas and countermeasures，such as the expansion of the urban medical insurance coverage，improving the multi-level urban medical insurance system，accelerating the pace of medical insurance legislation，accelerating the medical and health system reform.
