Urban particulate matters are the prime pollutants that influence air quality in Chinese cities. With the Chinese economy rapidly developing，growing energy consumption and increasing numbers of motor vehicles have worsened the urban environments. So the problem as to how urban particulate matter became the major environmental pollution is emerging. This paper analyzes the status quo and influence of urban particulate matter pollution and put forwards the countermeasures and suggestions against such kind of pollution in terms of management system，control methods and scientific research etc.
