New media platforms such as Weibo and Wechat have become an important means through which Chinese internet users obtain information and share their opinions.Systematic analysis of the opinions expressed in microblog posts about particular legal cases is beneficial in understanding the current state of public perceptions about China’s judicial system，as well as examining the main problems of these perceptions and possible solutions.This study was carried out using the Xuetang Data Analysis System.The System was used to compile the more than 760，000 original Sina Weibo microblog posts published about the Li Tianyi case between January 1，2013 and September 29，2013.After the microblog posts were compiled，theories of judicial communication were then used to examine them.
