Within financial informatization and information security industry,several areas are related including financial transaction management,financial services,risk management,financial consulting services and financial regulations. Particularly,multiple subjects such as finance,information technology (IT),management,mathematics,economy,psychology and other modern sciences are highly related and interactive. Considering the unique position of IT in western economy development especially western finance industry,we truly believe that IT has enhanced the room for the further growth of western economy. As the result,the interaction between finance industry and IT industry is closely examined. Typically,the history of financial informatization and problems remained are reviewed. Furthermore,both challenges and opportunities are identified as well. At last,in order to improve the development of western finance,IT innovation and continue research development in financial informatization and information security technology should be conducted and encouraged. If necessary,those new R&D products and services should be adopted and applied by financial industry with higher priority. Meanwhile,those companies or entrepreneurs with their own independent intelligent property rights should be supported and subsidized to further promote the merger between finance and IT.
