The bilateral relation between Indonesia and China had undergone a torturous development path, but since 1990 particularly since 1998 when Indonesia entering uthe period of democratic transition the development of the relation advanced quickly from a good-neighborly and friendly relation to a strategic partnership, and expanded in all fields including economic and trade relation, political and security cooperation and social and personnel exchanges with a bright future prospect. However, there were still exists some problems and challenges ahead which needs the two countries to work together to push the established strategic partnership forwards into the future. <<
