Since it was approved by the State Council two years ago, the Transferring Industrial Demonstration Zone of the City Belt along the Changjiang River through Anhui Province has been transferring, demonstrating, promoting and strengthening the economic and social development and innovation in Anhui Province. This article elaborates the achievements of Hefei and Wuhu as the two core cities in the Demonstration Zone. As the regional core, Hefei takes full advantage of its science and technology to build up a Great Lake City and tries to create a highland of innovation; as a regional sub-core, Wuhu sticks to its transferring role and tries to promote science and technology innovation. In addition, the article demonstrates a new development of the central industrial zones along the Changjiang River. In the article, the author also suggests that under the new situation the Demonstration Zone should break up the administrative divisions into industrial divisions, complement each other, and speed up the integration of the three circles; meanwhile, it should deepen reform and expand opening to develop the social and economic construction simultaneously. <<
