Having experienced three years' international financial crisis and sovereign debt crises, governments of the developed countries are adopting tight fiscal policies which will limit their ODA expenditures. However, they have committed a great number of post-war development aid to the Middle East considering the long-lasting turbulence there. The size and proportion of development aid the Middle East countries could receive from the developed world will be enhanced. The international aid to Africa in future will focus on the areas of gender equality, emergency assistance and climate change.
