建设资源节约型、环境友好型城市在中国尚无成型模式。2007年12月，国家批准武汉城市圈、长株潭城市群为全国资源节约型和环境友好型社会建设综合配套改革试验区，目的是探索构建“两型社会”的路径。武汉城市圈、长株潭城市群则主要是通过策划一批项目、创新一部分体制、争取一部分政策的方式在实践中不断积累完善相关经验。
<<The construction of a resource-saving and environment-friendly cities in China there is no pattern forming. December 2007，the Central government of China approved by the Wuhan City Circle and Changzhutan City Group as the comprehensive reform pilot area of ‘The Social Construction of Two Types’，aims at finding a path on ‘Social Construction of Resource-saving and Environment-friendly’. By now，the Wuhan City Circle and Changzhutan City Group accumulate some experience by practice，such as：planning a number of major projects，innovation of system，strive for some policies.
