U.S. economic recovery struggled with twists and turns in 2011 for multiple reasons.Prospects of U.S. economic growth in 2012 will continue to face uncertainties, with a strong possibility of having fairly moderate growth performance. Gross output and employment situation became important factors affecting the process and results of the general election. At the same time, the room for maneuver of macroeconomic policies has reduced considerably, there are significant constraints for both monetary and fiscal policies. Claims of U.S. economic policies targeting international trade partners have increased significantly in recent years, with strong impacts on the China-U.S. economic relations. However, it is also of great importance for the U.S. to maintain and develop China-U.S. economic relationship: Chinese market and Chinese capital are highly possible to play a role as the largest international contributor in meeting the policy goal of doubling the U.S. exports in five years proposed by the Obama administration.
